Last month, we shared news that the Lizzie McGuire reboot planned for Disney+ had been put on hold as planned show runner, Terri Minsky, stepped away from the project.

While we had hoped for just a short delay, it appears that production has still not resumed for the much anticipated series!
According to Variety, production on the series was halted after just two episodes had been completed. While not much was known at the time about the pause in filming other than show runner Terri Minsky was stepping down, there has since been speculation on the cause of the delay.

Recently, Disney+ moved proposed series Love, Victor (based on the film Love, Simon) to Hulu, citing that it was not “family-friendly” enough for the Disney+ service. According to Variety’s report, Lizzie McGuire herself, series star Hilary Duff, reposted the story on her Instagram, highlighting the term and posting that it “sounds familiar”.

At this point, no official word has been given on the future of the Lizzie McGuire reboot, but we will keep you updated as soon as we know more information.
