Universal’s Epic Universe has been open for just about a year. Over that time, the park has proven to be a hit amongst the majority of guests and critics thanks to its heavily themed portals and technologically advanced attractions, despite some overall issues with ride reliability.

There’s one major question about the park that, even a year later, has yet to be answered: What’s going on with Universal’s Annual Passes? However, answers may be coming soon, as evidenced by a recent survey Universal sent out.
Before we get there, though, a quick recap:
When Universal opened Epic Universe in 2025, the park wasn’t directly available to APs, though they could get a discount on single-day tickets. At the time, many assumed that Universal was simply going to wait a few months to get operations down at the new park before opening Epic Universe to Passholders in the fall of 2025 after the busy summer season.

However, that didn’t happen. Instead, Universal’s message about Annual Passes has remained the same throughout the early months of 2026, as currently displayed on the resort’s website:
Q: Is there a Universal Epic Universe-inclusive Annual Pass?
A: More details regarding Annual Passes that include Universal Epic Universe will be announced at a later date. Although a Universal Epic Universe-inclusive Pass isn’t currently available for purchase, Passholders are currently able to purchase 1-Day Universal Epic Universe tickets at a special price.

So, to put it simply, at the moment, there is no Universal AP that includes Epic Universe, with Passholders only having the option to purchase specially priced one-day tickets. That may be changing, however.

In early 2026, Universal sent out a survey to Annual Passholders that asked about SEVERAL different potential Epic Universe Passholder options, including:
- A 2-year, locked-in Annual Pass
- A 3-year, locked-in Annual Pass
- A 4-year, locked-in Annual Pass
The survey noted that for each of these multi-year Annual Pass options, guests would be required to make a theme park reservation (similar to Disney World) to manage capacity, due to the continued high demand for Epic Universe.

Further options included one where Annual Passholders could have the option to purchase a bundle that would let them visit Epic Universe on 3 days of their choice in a 3-month window, an add-on to Annual Passes that would allow access to Epic Universe on 10 days in the 12-month pass window, a weekend-only Annual Pass, an option where Annual Passholders could purchase a multi-day bundle that lets them select access in a 3-month window, and the option of Epic Universe access being available as an upgrade (the Annual Passholder price would roughly double).

Suffice to say, it seems that Universal is at least heavily considering integrating Epic Universe access into their Annual Passholder program in some way soon.
The survey wasn’t limited to ONLY Epic Universe ticket options, however, as APs were also asked about the following subject:
- Discounted date-based tickets for Annual Passholders.
- Annual Passholders potentially being able to purchase ticket bundles at a lower per-day price than the discounted date-based tickets.
- Dynamic Express Pass (as early as 2:00 PM on some dates).
- Benefits Stacking (for those in Backlot Club, Universal Visa Cardholders, or Peacock Subscribers).
- Gifting passes through a digital gift card.
- Exclusive entry.
- Play more, save more (personalized renewal based on your park spending and number of visits).
- Bringing a friend on select dates.
- In-app challenges for rewards, and escalating anniversary benefits based on how long a Passholder has had their pass.

Epic Universe still isn’t included with Universal’s Annual Passes as of now, but a recent survey indicates it may not be that way much longer. Stay tuned to AllEars for more on Universal Orlando.
