The Longest Line in Disneyland Today Isn’t For A Ride

Did you know that March 26th is a very special day in Disneyland? It’s Savannah Bananas Day, and Disneyland is going ALL out with the celebration.

The Savannah Bananas are back in Disneyland!

After the Savannah Bananas visited Disneyland last year, Disney decided to bring them back this year for a fun one-day-only experience. Even better? One of the newest Banana Ball Championship League Teams, the Indianapolis Clowns, joined in on the fun. We were in Disneyland to celebrate all things Savannah Bananas, so let’s see what’s happening with the celebration!

Okay, so here’s a little background. The Savannah Bananas are an exhibition baseball team that plays Banana Ball, a variation of baseball that focuses on entertainment and showmanship. That means the players don’t just play baseball; they also do dance routines, comedic sketches, and more during games.

We’ll just tell you now that this is a VERY popular event in Disneyland. In fact, you could say the crowd was…BANANAS. There was a sea of yellow waiting for the cavalcade.

The crowds were no joke

We also saw HUGE lines for special merchandise celebrating the day. Disney was limiting the Disney-specific merchandise to two per person. Those souvenirs included a special lapel pin and shirt.

The Savannah Bananas started the day with a performance in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle. The performances were even bigger this year, and they danced AND sang.

There they go!

They were joined by some familiar faces, like Mickey and Donald.

The Indianapolis Clowns also joined the Bananas today and performed for fans, too.

We also got a chance to talk to one of the Savannah Bananas team members, Jackson.

The Savannah Bananas eventually marched down Main Street, U.S.A., in their own cavalcade. Then they scooted over to California Adventure for another wild performance.

We enjoyed seeing the Savannah Bananas back in Disneyland, and it seems like this is going to be an annual event, considering how many folks turned up to support the team. In the meantime, check back with AllEars again soon for more Disney news.
