Why Disney World’s New Resort Refillable Mugs Are So Hard To Find

If you drink a lot of sodas, coffee, juice, or tea, a Disney Resort Refillable Mug might just be your new best friend on your Disney trips. That’s because you can pay one price for the mug and then use it to get free refills on your favorite drinks.

However, a resort refillable mug also makes for a cool souvenir you can keep using when you take it home. So a lot of us get excited when a new mug is released. Well, we think the NEWEST resort refillable mug is going to sell like hotcakes.

A new Resort Refillable Mug has arrived at Disney World hotels, and it has a design by artist Jerrod Maruyama, who is VERY popular among Disney fans. Maruyama is an illustrator who gave us the “Kingdom of Cute” illustrations of our favorite Disney icons and characters. He’s collaborated with Disney on numerous projects.

Recently, we saw a popcorn bucket designed by Maruyama, but now he’s created a new design for the Resort Refillable Mugs. However, there’s a catch. This new design hasn’t made its way to ALL Disney World hotels yet, so we had to trek around Disney World to track them down. They first showed up at Disney’s Pop Century Resort and sold out, although a Cast member told that the new mugs weren’t even supposed to be out yet.

But we did get a tip that they were spotted at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort! So we traveled from Pop Century to the Polynesian Village only to discover they’re sold out there, too. We also visited all the other Monorail Resorts and came up empty-handed. But if you’re curious as to what they look like, here’s a sneak peek:

Refillable Resort Mugs are 16-oz. mugs that you can purchase for $22.99. After that, you can use them to get free refills of fountain drinks, coffee, and tea from participating counter service locations at any Disney World hotel. The mugs have an embedded RFID Code that starts a 14-day countdown when they’re purchased. That RFID Code allows you to use them for refills. After 14 days, they’ll no longer work, but you can still take the mug home as a unique souvenir.

  1. The refillable mug at Disney resorts is a must have if you’re looking for a great souvenir and enjoy drinking beverages throughout your stay.
If you drink coffee orange juice or
milk or soft drinks in the morning and then have a drink at lunch while relaxing in the afternoon and enjoy a nightcap in the evening, it’s a “No Brainer” to purchase it.
Most drinks at the hotel are in excess of $2.00 every time you go, so at less than $25 for the mug, you do the math!!😂👍
