REVIEW: We Tried a $8 Snack at Epic Universe, and We Have THOUGHTS

Between you and me, I might be a little bit too obsessed with How to Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk at Epic Universe. From my very first moment in the park, I felt like I was transported to the world of dragons and truly understood the meaning of “immersive theming.”

Toothless!

Beyond seeing my favorite characters come to life, hopping on incredible attractions, and watching Toothless literally fly over me, I was pretty stuck on THE FOOD! We tried a new snack at Mead Hall, and y’all, this is proof dragons are real.

Everybody, say hello to Gronckle’s Bread Pudding, which is a malted cinnamon bread pudding with a Yaknog anglaise, chocolate Pop Rocks, and vanilla ice cream for $7.99.

Gronckle’s Bread Pudding

We thought this was such a fun dessert, especially to get at a quick service location! The bread pudding was moist and packed with flavor. The top had that perfect crispy layer, but the inside was soft and warm, just how it should be.

Soft and moist

The anglaise was cinnamon and vanilla forward, and while we did enjoy it, we think it might have made the dish a little too sweet. If it were on the side, we could have controlled how much to put on it, but there was a lot on the plate, which we weren’t obsessed with.

It’s sweet!

The chocolate Pop Rocks on top were also a fun addition (and no, we didn’t know chocolate Pop Rocks existed either), which reminded us of dragons, and while the flag was plastic and inedible, it was a nice touch. It was also a great size to share since it was pretty rich and sweet.

Toppings

We just love our dragon treats! Make sure you keep following AllEars for more of our favorite snacks you need to try during your next visit to the Orlando theme parks.
