We don’t have time to be wasting time in Disney World, y’all!

When you’re spending as much money as you are to be in the theme parks, you want to make the absolute most of your time. That much is particularly true when you’re getting into the parks — we’re constantly looking for ways to make parking, security, and getting through the gates more efficient. That’s why today, we’re sharing our best tips to speed through security (safely, of course!).
Hold It Out
The first and most important tip when navigating security is to remove certain items from your bag AHEAD of time. There are a few different items that are known to set off the scanners, so if you have them inside your bag when walking, you will likely get pulled over for an individual bag check.

The items on this list include umbrellas and metal water bottles in particular, as well as glasses cases and large phone chargers. I’ve also personally noticed that when I have 3 or more FuelRods in my bag (the life of an AllEars reporter, amirite?!), my bag tends to get flagged. Just hold the offending items out in front of you so the security person can see them, and hopefully you’ll make it through without waiting for the full bag inspection!
Clear Bags Can Help
Another great tip is to pack as many things as possible in clear bags. If you’re the type to do small bags inside of big bags, then using something like Ziploc bags or see-through reusable pouches can be incredibly helpful. This way, if you get pulled over for a bag check, they won’t have to open and inspect every single tiny pouch, pocket, and bag inside your backpack.

One of our team members stands by this trick for a stroller as well! She said she put snacks, bubble wands, and other items in a large mesh bag attached to the side of the stroller, and since security could see everything clearly, they didn’t have to search the entire thing.
Our Best Stroller Hacks
Going through Disney World security with a stroller is an entirely different ballgame, especially when you’ve got little ones in tow. Security usually only allows one adult to go through the stroller line with the stroller, so if you have more than one grown-up, we suggest sending one through the regular security line with any kids who can walk, as well as any backpacks or diaper bags.

You’ll be asked to pull out all large individual items from your stroller’s storage compartment, so keeping that number to a minimum is helpful. One great idea is to bring an empty tote bag — right before you get to security, throw all the “stroller junk” into the bag and hand it to the person walking through the scanner. That’ll save you significant time! Also, just a note, Disney will have you take your little one out of the stroller when going through security.
Keep It Moving, People!
Finally, one big thing you need to remember when going through security is to keep it moving! You can walk through the scanners at a normal pace as long as everyone is in a single file line. If you alert the machine, the Cast Members working security will make sure to let you know.

Perhaps the biggest thing that slows security down on a regular basis is people lollygagging when walking through the scanners. Just keep a normal pace and pay attention to what’s going on around you. That’s all it takes!

Hopefully, these tips will help you during your next visit so that you can get into the parks ASAP. For more tips for navigating Disney World, make sure to subscribe to our newsletter and follow us on Instagram, X, Facebook, and TikTok!
