Why I Avoid This EPCOT Restaurant Like the Plague

EPCOT is a food lover’s paradise; however, there are some that our team will completely avoid, and maybe you should too.

EPCOT

This park offers an incredible range of options from quick-service spots to full table-service experiences. On top of that, the seasonal food booths during EPCOT’s festivals provide unique, must-try bites that keep guests coming back year after year. With so many choices, it’s easy to find something spectacular, but not every restaurant hits the mark. Here are a few EPCOT dining spots I personally skip, and what I choose instead.

Le Cellier Steakhouse
Alright, this one might make some waves. Le Cellier is often hyped as a must-visit for steak lovers, but for me, it can feel a bit too cramped. The cozy, dimly lit space is charming on paper, but in reality, it can feel crowded and rushed. One of our team members says, “Le Cellier can feel a bit too cramped, so I’m just gonna wait for the cheese soup at a festival.”

It’s dark and crowded

If you’re craving Canadian flavors, consider trying Canada’s Food & Wine Festival Booths for less stress, more enjoyment. If you are craving a great steak, over at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, you can find one of our favorite steakhouses at Disney World, Yachtsman.

Stunning, but it is dim in here!

La Creperie de Paris
La Creperie de Paris might sound great if you love crepes, but the experience doesn’t live up to the hype. “The crepes from the to-go window are better/cheaper, the theming is boring, and the last galette I had from there was kinda greasy?”

For a similar French-inspired treat without the disappointment, stick to the Crepes A Emporter, the walk-up window, or even head over to Boulangerie Patisserie les Halles, the bakery in France.

Sunshine Seasons
Sunshine Seasons is EPCOT’s main quick-service spot in The Land Pavilion, but I skip it unless I’m really in a bind. “Sunshine Seasons is one to skip, unless I’m really in a bind; it’s just glorified cafeteria food.” We will say, there are a few items we enjoy here, especially their dessert options; however, we just think that for a full meal, there are so many better choices.

With so many other quick-service options, I prefer places like La Cantina de San Angel or Connections Eatery, which offer fresh, flavorful meals without feeling like a generic cafeteria.

Restaurants in the China Pavilion
I usually avoid both Lotus Blossom Café and Eight Dragons Restaurant in China due to their lack of flavor and quality of food. One AllEars staffer wrote, “I won’t go to either restaurant in China, especially if there is a festival, because normally I like the booth food so much better than what they offer at the restaurant.”

For authentic Chinese flavors without the wait or the formal setting, the festival booths are the way to go! We have found that they usually provide better quality for less money.
