Disney World Cuts Parade Times on 12 Days in December

We are huge fans of all the entertainment Disney World offers. You’ll find lots of stage shows, parades, and fireworks in each of the four parks. Over in Magic Kingdom, some of our favorite live entertainment takes place at night! This past summer, Disney brought us a new nighttime parade in Magic Kingdom. This parade, paired with the nightly fireworks, is some of the best nighttime entertainment in Disney World.

Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away

Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away brings us many classic Disney characters on amazing floats all decked out with gorgeous lights. Singing and dancing are set to a hit soundtrack, even adding in a classic nighttime Disney song that older Disney Adults will certainly remember. We’re all so happy for a nighttime parade to be back in Disney World, but unfortunately, we’ve noticed Disney has completely cut it from the entertainment lineup on 12 days in December!

The Disney Starlight parade debuted this past summer in Magic Kingdom, and it became an instant hit. This now fan-favorite parade is enjoyed by so many because it is a true sight to behold. Disney nighttime parades are known to be some of the best Disney park entertainment, and Disney Starlight is no exception.

If you’ve been excited to see this parade on your next trip to Disney World, you’ll want to plan accordingly. Disney has kept it off the schedule on 12 select nights this month, so be sure to plan your Magic Kingdom day on a day it is available if you’re hoping to see it.

Why won’t Disney Starlight be offered on 12 nights in December? It’s because those nights are Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party nights! The part begins at 7 PM and goes until 12:00 AM. Starlight is typically offered at 8 PM and 10 PM, but because of the holiday party going on at those times, it will not be available.

The dates that Disney Starlight will not be performing in December are the following:

  • December 2nd
  • December 4th
  • December 5th
  • December 7th
  • December 9th
  • December 11th
  • December 12th
  • December 14th
  • December 16th
  • December 18th
  • December 19th
  • December 21st

If you’re planning on going to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party on one of these nights, you can catch a different nighttime parade: Mickey’s One Upon a Christmastime Parade! This holiday parade is a wonderful experience full of cheer. You’ll get to see lots of characters, including Mickey, Minnie, and Santa Claus, and sing and dance to fun Christmas music. If you can’t catch Starlight but are going to the holiday party, we definitely recommend watching one of the two showings of the Christmas parade.
