Update: Zootopia 2 will release on Disney+ on March 11th, 2026.
Disney’s newest animated movie is set to hit theaters soon! Zootopia 2 will arrive in theaters on November 26th, and we’re excited to see what Nick, Judy, and the city of Zootopia have been up to since the first movie, which premiered in 2016.

However, you may already be wondering when you might catch the movie on streaming, particularly on Disney+. Well, we’re going to analyze what Disney has done with previous film releases and figure that out.
So let’s take a look at four of Disney’s previous movie releases to figure out when Zootopia might make it to Disney+. One thing we have to point out, though, is that Disney movies that tend to do better at the box office seem to take a little longer to appear on the streaming subscription service, whereas movies that don’t do as well tend to end up on Disney+ a little earlier.

Let’s start with Freakier Friday, which just landed on Disney+ as of November 12th. The film was released in theaters on August 8th, 2025, and then released to digital on October 7th, which shows a 60-day window between the two releases. The film landed on Disney+ 96 days after its initial theatrical release.

With Fantastic Four, Disney’s latest Marvel movie. Fantastic Four released in theaters on July 25th, 2025. The film got a digital release on September 23rd, exactly 60 days after its theatrical release. The film dropped on Disney+ on November 5th, 103 days after its theatrical release and 43 days after its digital release.

Pixar’s Elio landed in theaters on June 20th, with a digital release following that on August 19th, which is 60 days later. Elio arrived on Disney+ on September 17th, 89 days after its arrival in theaters. This is a shorter window than what we usually see, though, and could have something to do with Elio‘s performance at the box office.

The live-action Lilo & Stitch arrived in theaters on May 23rd, and was available for digital release as of July 22nd, 60 days after it hit theaters. This movie arrived on Disney+ on September 3rd, 103 days after its theatrical release.

So what does that tell us about when Zootopia 2 becomes available on Disney+? Well, the average amount of days between a movie’s theatrical release date and its debut on Disney+ is around 100 days, so with Zootopia 2 arriving in theaters on November 26th, we can estimate that it will premiere on Disney+ on or around March 6th, 2026. However, it could release a little earlier or later, depending on how well (or how bad) it does at the box office.
Update: Zootopia 2 will release on Disney+ on March 11th, 2026.
