There’s nothing quite like taking a moment for yourself at Disney World. Whether you’re choosing to spend that time with a little self-care, celebrating a special occasion, or just opting to sightsee your way around Disney World’s hotels, there’s nothing like the feeling of allowing time to stand still for a little while. But if you’ve ever wanted to pick up a snack and something to sip as you make your rounds, we know just the place you should stop by for a “marvelous” time.

Here at AllEars, we know all the ins and outs of Disney restaurants — including where you should definitely eat, and where you should skip. We recently stopped by Boardwalk Joe’s Marvelous Margaritas at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn Resort and are bringing you our FULL review!
Background
This small-scale snack kiosk knows how to deliver a full-scale “wow” when it comes to flavor! Boardwalk Joe’s Marvelous Margaritas is a kiosk known for serving up a variety of beverages and savory bites, but you might know them best for specializing in margaritas.

Here’s what you need to know about dining at this restaurant.
Atmosphere
Step right up and feast your eyes (and your stomach) on the brightly-colored snack stand at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn Resort. It’s dressed head to toe with everything meant to draw your attention, like huge bright lights outlining its signature sign, red and white striped canopy, and even those highlights of yellow setting the tone for a perfect margarita stop.

While it’s on the small side, don’t let that fool you! There’s more here than meets your first glance. Stepping up to the counter will allow you to browse their full menu of snacks, beverages, and alcoholic drinks served in a jiffy!

If you’re not keen on the idea of taking your drinks and food to go, don’t worry! While the stand itself doesn’t offer any true seating, there are a few patio-style seats and tables available in a communal area with the neighboring snack stands and quick-service restaurants nearby.

But enough about that, what are we eating?!
Food & Drinks
We knew we needed something savory to pair with our drinks, so we grabbed the Nachos for $5.29. These are served with cheese sauce.

This is a HUGE portion, easily enough for two people to share if they’re both just looking for a snack, and we loved the style of chip. They weren’t too thin or thick, were perfectly crunchy, and were salted well. As for the cheese, this is basically plastic cheese’s cousin, so it’s not the super melty cheese you can pour over your chips; you’ll want to dip your chips instead. It’s not anything super out of this world, but if you enjoy chips and cheese, go for it!

We also picked up the Jalapeño-Stuffed Pretzel for $7.99, and WOW, this totally blew us away.

There’s just enough jalapeño here to bring you the spice you want, but not enough to be overpowering. The cheese inside is gooey and warm in the best way, and the pretzel itself is so soft. However, the baked parmesan on top gives it a bit of a crunch. It’s a solid option, and we can’t recommend it enough if you’re looking for something savory, slightly spicy, and unique to this spot!

For our drinks, we decided to try the Pineapple Smoothie for $6.29. This is a little bit thicker than your normal smoothie, but not as thick as a milkshake. It’s got that distinct DOLE Whip Pineapple flavor, so if you love that, we think it’s a great choice, especially since it won’t break the bank.

And of course, we had to try one of their signature margaritas, so we also ordered the Patrón Disney Select Añejo Margarita for $18.50. This drink is made with Patrón Disney Select Barrel Añejo, Cointreau, and Sweet-and-Sour.

First things first, we don’t feel this is worth $18.50. There’s a LOT of sweet and sour flavoring in here, along with lime, and while it looks light and refreshing, this is NOT the drink for you if you’re adverse to sour. Now, you can’t really taste the alcohol in here, which is good and bad at the same time, because it can be dangerous if you think you can grab more than one/think the alcohol content isn’t strong. We believe there are better options available, such as the Sunshine Margarita or the Grand Margarita, which are also the same price.
Magic or Tragic?
This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if…
- You’re visiting the BoardWalk and want something quick
- You’re a big fan of hot/savory and salty snacks
- You want a stop with multiple solid cocktails
You should skip this Disney World spot if…
- You’re nowhere near the BoardWalk or EPCOT Resort area
- You want a sit-down meal
- You’d prefer to eat your meal inside
Overall, we’d say that some of the margaritas here are certainly a highlight for those who enjoy drinking. If you love DOLE Whip and want something tasty, don’t miss the Pineapple Smoothie, and we’ll be thinking about the Jalapeño-Stuffed Pretzel for a WHILE.
