Dining at Disney World is another part of the magical experience. There are so many restaurants to choose from with fantastic food options. You can get stereotypical theme park food with a Disney twist or go all out at a Michelin Star restaurant.

While we love enjoying Disney’s dining options, there are a few problems that I and the team here at AllEars have specifically with dinner (or supper, depending on what you wanna call it ?) at the resort.
Early Closures
Not all restaurants are open long enough to even serve dinner. This is HUGE problem if you were really hoping to enjoy a meal somewhere, but when you get there, they are already closed for the day.

An example of this is Columbia Harbour House at Magic Kingdom. This New England-style bistro closes at 5PM daily. You might be able to grab a very early dinner, but if you were hoping to have that yummy lobster roll around 6PM, you’re out of luck. When you’re planning out your meals, be sure to check restaurant operating times!
Dinners Become Redundant
We need to briefly remind you that we LOVE Disney World dining. However, we do have to admit that dinner options can become a bit redundant. You’re options often include chicken, steak, burgers, pork, and the sprinkled in vegan/vegetarian option.

The way each of these is prepared may vary, but you’ll likely be served your choice of meat with a potato and vegetable. Again, it’s generally very delicious, but there’s not a whole lot of variety. If you do want some variety, I suggest trying the vegan/vegetarian options from time to time. I recently had the Vegetable “Wellington” at Steakhouse 71 at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, and it was phenomenal.
Too Many Snacks (If That’s Possible)
The snacks at Disney World are famous! Almost everyone grabs either a Mickey pretzel, turkey leg, Mickey ice cream bar, churro, popcorn or a combination of these plus others. And if you’re at EPCOT during one of the four festivals, the snacking is on another level.

It’s easy to get lost in the snacks; then when it’s suddenly dinner time, you have no room for a real meal! If you have a reservation booked, you might want to stay aware of what you’re eating throughout the day to save some room for dinner.
To Book a Reservation or Not To Book a Reservation
Which brings us to our next point. If you know you’re going to want to snack all day, do you even make a reservation at a table service restaurant for your dinner meal? That’s a decision you’ll have to make, but an alternative is to use the walk-up wait lists at select restaurants.

Not all table service restaurants use walk-up waitlists, but many do. You can see if the restaurant you’re interested in uses it and the wait time on the My Disney Experience app or head to the restaurant and ask the Cast Members.

These problems shouldn’t deter you from enjoying a yummy dinner at Disney World. Consider them as you’re making plans, but definitely have the meal you’ve been looking forward to if that makes sense for you.
