Epic Universe has seriously blown us away!

The new Universal theme park opened a few months ago, and we still can’t stop obsessing over the snacks, rides, and entertainment. I have been lucky enough to go to the parks several times, but when it comes to the new Harry Potter land, there’s one thing that my friend Quincy and I just can’t agree on.
There is so much to see and do in Epic Universe! I can’t even choose a favorite land in the park (unless you make me, of course). One land that blew Quincy and me both away, though, was the Wizarding World of Harry Potter: The Ministry of Magic!

This land takes you back into 1920s Paris and the Fantastic Beasts storyline; however, the attraction in the land takes you into London in the 1990s. (Don’t ask, we just know it’s thanks to magic.) This land is gorgeous, and we find ourselves sitting in it, with a drink, just enjoying the atmosphere. That being said, there’s one major thing that Quincy and I just can’t agree on. That’s what takes us to Café L’Air De La Sirène!

Café L’air de la Sirene is the quick-service restaurant in the land that serves up amazing French-inspired bites and drinks. We both love this spot, and for me, it’s my favorite place to end each night in the park with a drink. So what’s the thing we can’t agree on? The famous Butterbeer crepe!

The Bieraubeurre Crêpe is $20, and it’s made with shortbread cookie butter, Bavarian cream, Bieraubeurre cream, strawberries, Bieraubeurre drizzle, and a shortbread cookie garnish. Why is this dessert a big divide in our online household? Quincy thinks it’s definitely not worth it, and I think it definitely is!

So what are Quincy’s gripes? It’s way too expensive for the treat, it’s overly sweet, and it’s hard to enjoy in the heat. She’s a huge butterbeer fan in the parks, especially a hot one on a cold day. But one drink is more than enough sugar for her. That means the crepe is wayyyy too much sugar. She also feels like $20 is a hefty price tag, especially when you compare it to EPCOT’s dessert crepes, which are all less than $9.

That’s where my sweet tooth comes in! I have had the crepe multiple times, and my wild (and maybe crazy) opinion is that I truly think it’s worth the money. Put down your torches and pitchforks for just a moment and hear me out! I do have an insane sweet tooth, and I would agree it’s too much for one person. I have shared it every time I’ve enjoyed it, and I felt like between 2 and 3 people it was the perfect amount per person.

The strawberries on top add a freshness to help cut through the filling, and the whipped cream on top is light and airy. $20 is no cheap dessert, that’s true. But when you consider it can be enough for almost 3 people to share, I think that price starts to work out. It’s also chock-full of filling, whereas some of EPCOT’s crepes don’t have quite as much.

At the end of the day, this is really more of a conversation of whether you have a sweet tooth or not. Quincy can keep her butterbeer, and I will dive into the crepe all day long. As always, be sure to keep following AllEars for more Universal hot takes, tips, and more!
