What time is it? Summertime! Disney is bringing summer to the parks with new experiences and character outfits, and we’re ready for the best summer ever.
Shanghai Disney Resort is welcoming summer fun with brand-new activities that make us want to book plane tickets, pack our ears, and have the summer of a lifetime.
Shanghai Disney knows how to do character interactions, and Duffy and his besties, along with Mickey and Friends, will be decked out in summer outfits. Mickey and pals will be wearing fun hats, sunglasses, and “vibrant tropical fruit-inspired outfits.” We’re obsessed with Mickey’s bucket hat, flamingo sunglasses, and Minnie’s checkered cherry dress.
Duffy will have an adorable sailor outfit with a whale vest, and ShellieMay handcrafted her own shell and starfish accessories for her outfit. Other friends, like StellaLou and LinaBell, are wearing new looks inspired by sea creatures, such as mermaids and octopuses.
Starting June 27th, Pixar-themed activities will be heading to Tomorrowland! Pixar Adventurous Journey will be filled with new walkthrough exhibits that “blend innovative Disney storytelling with fun interactive elements across seven designed worlds.” Classic Pixar movies like Inside Out, Monsters, Inc., Finding Nemo, Turning Red, Coco, Up, and Soul will be represented!
Guests will have plenty of opportunities to meet their favorite Pixar characters like Joy and Sadness, Mei Lee, Carl Fredricksen, Bing Bong, and more.
There are even new Pixar-themed meals at Stargazer Grill-Pixar Celebration. From Flamin’ Mad Burger & Friends, Bouncy Bites Noodles, and Eye-scream Melon Swirl, these treats look incredible (hey Disney, when can we get this at Disney World?).
Is it summer without Stitch? We don’t think so! Starting June 26th, a new photo opportunity called Stitch Space Base will “blend Stitch’s chaos and charm all into one.” Stitch, Lilo, and Angel will also be at Galaxy Gathering, and, of course, there are shopping and dining experiences you can find at Intergalactic Imports and Star Trail Snacks.
Stitch is also sticking around for the fall at an all-new interactive game zone called Galaxy Play Lab in Tomorrowland!
For the park’s ninth anniversary, guests will be able to see Tinker Bell in Fantasyland, starting on June 16th.
To beat the heat, there will be plenty of opportunities to cool off with water-themed shows or indoor activities. Shows like”Disney Duffy’s Splashing Pre-Parade” and “Summer Blast’ Castle Show” start July 2nd with a promise to stay cool. There are even cooling zones, dedicated kids-care facilities and services, and tents with air conditioning.
The Junior Explorers Camp will open on June 16th. It’s a fully transformed version of the Excavation Site at Camp Discover!
There will be different zones themed to natural environments paired with Disney characters. Finding Nemo will take you through the wonders of the ocean, Up will show you cloud-high adventures, and The Lion King represents the wild savanna.
No celebration is complete without lots of snacks! New dishes inspired by fruit-inspired pastries at CookieAnn Bakery and Spiral Snack’s Pineapple Shaved Ice at Snackin’ Kraken.
There are even super cute food souvenirs! We’re obsessed with this Mickey-Mouse themed sipper, and there’s a Disney LinaBell Souvenir Cup.
New summer merchandise will be hitting the parks as well. This is the 2025 Mickey and Friends Summer Vibes Collection that is SO cute. Other new collections include the 2025 Summer Duffy and Friends Ocean Party Collection and the 2025 Stitch and Angel Tropical Beach Collection.
