REVIEW: We Just Indulged in FANCY Food and Drinks OUTSIDE a Disney World Hotel…and We’d Do It Again

Believe it or not, we sometimes leave our little Disney World and Universal Orlando bubble and venture out to other parts of Orlando.

And yes, that sometimes includes theme parks like SeaWorld Orlando and LEGOLAND Florida, but recently, we had the opportunity to attend a media event at the Conrad Orlando Hotel. There, we checked out Apéro, so join us as we have some fancy food and drinks.

The Conrad Orlando is part of the massive Evermore Resort area, which is near Disney World. Apéro is an al fresco bar inspired by the Mediterranean Riviera. You’ll find the bar located down one flight of stairs from the hotel lobby. It’s an open area with bar seating as well as tables and chairs. It also has beautiful views of the hotel’s pool area, as well as a fountain right outside the window.

Not a bad view

The menu here is light bites, as well as cocktails, beer, and wine. We started with drinks. The Oh Liang is $25 and is made with rum, Pumean coffee, almond, pandan, and jasmine. The rum was hidden behind the almond and coffee flavors, and we didn’t really get a taste of the jasmine or pandan either: overall, it tasted more grassy. The texture is smooth, though. The presentation is also nice.

The Bellini NA is a non-alcoholic cocktail on the menu. It’s made with White Peach Puree and Lyre’s Non-Alcoholic Prosecco for $15. It tasted like sour peaches, and there’s not a lot of sweetness to it. It almost has a wine cooler vibe.

We also grabbed some bites. The Burrata ($20) is served with Aged Balsamic, Cherry Tomato, Basil Oil, and Maldon. The tomatoes were marinated and tasted fresh. The overall dish was a nice blend of a little sweet and sour. The cheese was creamy and not super sweet.

The Short Rib Pizza ($26) has Garlic & Shallot Confit, Braised Short Rib, Mozzarella, Pickled Red Onion, and Chili Oil. The crust is soft, but also crisp. The cheese is perfectly cooked. We didn’t get a lot of flavor from the short rib, and we thought the garlic and parmesan were a bit overpowering, especially the garlic.

The Rocher is $18 and is made with Chocolate Frangelico Semifreddo, Salted Caramel Filling, Chocolate Cake, and Chocolate Fudge Sauce. It’s an elevated version of a Rocher candy. We found this dessert super creamy, and the nuts added the perfect amount of crunch. The fudge sauce was rich and decadent.

Overall, we found the atmosphere at Apéro elegant and welcoming. There was even a violinist playing during the media event. Seating is very comfortable at both the bar and the indoor and outdoor tables. The menu is heavy on dishes with Mediterranean influences, but we still think anyone could find something they like here.
