A major airport expansion project could be coming to Orlando soon!

Orlando International Airport feels like it’s constantly changing and evolving. In fact, there’s been talk of a MAJOR train expansion coming to the airport that would link up directly with Disney World. If it does get built, there are some features we would LOVE to be included!
The proposed $6 million Sunshine Corridor project would connect and expand parts of SunRail and Brightline across multiple tourist destinations around Central Florida — including Disney World. The project seems more and more likely to happen, and so we’re starting to dream about what the project could include.
Special Disney Theming
If there’s a train going specifically to and from Disney World, it would be AMAZING if it were Disney-themed!

Disney World uniquely sets itself apart from other theme park resorts, thanks to its patented “Disney Magic”, which absolutely involves its nostalgic theming. It would be really great to see train cars wrapped in a Disney print, interior theming, and other additions that would get you excited for your upcoming Disney stay.
A Hype Video
We still miss the Magical Express, a complimentary bus service and luggage delivery system that took passengers between the Orlando International Airport and Disney World hotels. We especially miss one fun feature of the Express.

Disney’s Magical Express had hype videos that got you excited for your stay. We’d love to see something like that on the new train. Going to Disney World is exciting, and the train ride over should be exciting as well!
Disney Springs Transfers
If the train makes a stop at Disney Springs, we do have one request…

We think it would be great if the train service included exclusive Disney Springs buses that take you to your hotel. That way, if you’ve already paid for the train, your ticket includes exclusive buses that specifically accommodate passengers traveling with luggage.
Ability to Pre-Book
Disney World is all in on advanced reservations, and this train service should be no different.

You can knock out a lot when booking a Disney World vacation package, and it would be a great feature to include the option to book the new train service as well. If anything, it would ease so much stress to not have to worry about transportation months before your visit.
Plane-to-Train Luggage Service
We can’t help but reference the Magical Express again, but we were fans of how it handled luggage.

A direct-to-plane luggage service would be greatly appreciated, especially for large families and folks traveling with a decent amount of luggage.
Cheaper Fare Incentives
When the train is up and running, we’d like to see competitive pricing.

At least initially, we’d like to see pricing that challenges buses and rideshares, as well as deals that really incentivize using the train service.
Bus Stops at Stations
We’re assuming that if the train comes to Disney World, there will be multiple stations for people to transfer via bus and rideshare.

We’d simply like to see bus stops and rideshare areas for folks to transfer to their respective hotels, giving passengers plenty of flexibility. If the train does happen and winds up going to the Disney World Resort, this possibility becomes likely.
