There are so many films coming to the theaters soon, like the Live-Action Lilo and Stitch, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and more! Now we’re getting some insights into Toy Story 5 from one of the stars of the film. Let’s grab our popcorn and dive in!

In case you missed it, Toy Story 5 is heading to theaters on June 19th, 2026. The film features our favorite toys back in action after the events of Toy Story 4, where the toys part and go their separate ways. Tim Allen and Tom Hanks are back, reprising their roles as Buzz and Woody, respectively.

Now Buzz Lightyear himself is giving us some insight into the new movie! Speaking with Variety, Tim Allen shared that Buzz Lightyear will be “front and center during the movie’s unbelievable opening sequence.”

The opening scene will then move from Buzz to Jessie, where it will focus heavily on our favorite cowgirl! Allen confirmed the movie focuses heavily on Jessie and that Buzz and Woody do “realign”. Thank goodness for that!

He finished by saying, “I can give you that, but I can’t give you much more.” We are glad for any insight on the new film that’s coming almost 7 years after the release of the fourth film. In December, Allen also teased that it’s a very clever story.

He said, “Do you wanna do five of these? I don’t really believe it’s about the money. I’m sure they want it to be a success, but that’s not why they did it. Had they not come up with a brilliant script, they wouldn’t have done it, and they wouldn’t have called me and Tom. It’s really clever.” The new movie focuses on Buzz, Woody, and all of their friends as they go head to head with kids’ new favorite toys — electronics!
