Get Ready to Have Your Childhood Ruined — An ‘Aladdin’ Horror Movie Is in Production

In the past few years, we’ve seen a few Disney characters get the horror movie treatment!

From Peter Pan to Winnie the Pooh to Mickey Mouse himself, we’ve seen studios do all kinds of things with the characters that have entered the public domain. And now, unfortunately, another beloved tale is getting the spooky treatment.

Deadline reports that a new horror movie inspired by Aladdin is now in the works. The new film is called Aladdin: The Monkey’s Paw, and it just began production.

The movie is described as a “dark, supernatural reimagining” of the Aladdin story and it will be produced by Empire Studios, Every Entertainment, and 8th Law Pictures. Filming will begin in late May 2025 in the UK.

The film’s synopsis is: “A modern-day Londoner, Aladdin, inherits an ancient monkey’s paw believed to grant wishes, only to discover that every desire comes at a soul-crushing price. As those around him fall victim to its curse, he must confront a growing evil — and the demonic force that feeds on every wish made.”
