A BRAND NEW BAR is coming to an iconic Disney World hotel!
Disney World hotel bars and lounges are some of our favorite places to dine and relax while we’re on vacation, and soon we’ll have another one to explore! Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort has seen a ton of change over the past few years, and even more is on the horizon to help bring this new bar to life!
If you’ve ever wandered around Disney World and found yourself stepping inside the lobby of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, you’ve probably felt like you’ve truly stepped back into another time. Its timeless elegance is marveled by thousands of visitors each year, and a new addition will soon be joining it!
Disney has just announced plans for a new lobby bar inspired by the lobby’s iconic birdcage. This new bar will “pay tribute to the resort’s Victorian roots with intricate woodwork, stained glass, and brass accents.” As you peer inside it, you may even spot a few colorful birds in the stained glass and murals.
Taking a closer look at the artist rendering released by Disney, it appears this bar will be fairly straightforward. While it will sport a simple concept, there does appear to be a few seats along the exterior, illuminating light, and a design paying homage to the existing birdcage you’ll find currently in Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort’s lobby.
Of course, even with this new addition just across from the bar, you’ll still find the Victorian cage-style elevator that fans of this Disney World hotel have come to know and love since 1988. Based on the concept art, it looks like this bar could replace the current birdcage…so we’ll just have to wait and see!

Concur with the others. This isn’t well thought out. Why the need for ANOTHER bar???!!! Messes with the elegance of the lobby. Leave the current birdcage where it is, and if Heaven forbid another bar/lounge is necessarily, take up the vacant space where Afternoon Tea once was.
That looks stupid, and will ruin the entire ambiance of the lobby. It is one dumb idea after another. I guess if they are going to ruin the Magic Kingdom with Cars attraction might as well screw with the lobby at the Grand Floridan.
Oh, great…..another place for drinking alcoholic beverages……thus potentially shattering the peace and tranquility of the Grand Floridian’s beautiful lobby. Isn’t The Enchanted Rose Lounge enough? It’s a lovely space separated from the public areas of the hotel, so that loud guests who have over-imbibed don’t disturb anyone but fellow drinkers. Somehow, the concept of the tinkling notes from the lobby Grand Piano meshing well with an open bar doesn’t compute!
why build a new bar and eliminate the bird care or the Ginger Bread House. Use the area where they used to do the afternoon tea and finger sandwiches that has not been used since covid19? Much bigger area that should be used and the bar could be installed right on the lest by the old kitchen area?
