Disneyland, the original Disney theme park, is about to celebrate its 70th anniversary!
While the park does not officially turn 70 until July 17th, 2025, Disney loves to celebrate for a LONG time. Disneyland’s 70th anniversary celebration will allow you to “celebrate happy” from May 16th, 2025, all the way into the summer of 2026. During the celebration, you can expect tons of entertainment offerings, extra magic on certain attractions, and so much more. Plus, if you are a fan of MagicBands, your MagicBand+ can help bring you even closer to the celebration!
MagicBand+ is Disney’s latest version of MagicBands and also happens to be the most expensive, but that is because they are interactive! Not only does MagicBand+ act as your park ticket, your hotel room key, and even your credit card, but it also interacts with some aspects around the park.
If you don’t own a MagicBand+ and are visiting Disneyland for its 70th anniversary, these new features might convince you to become Team MagicBand!
According to Disney, during the 70th, you can “discover five fun surprises in Main Street, U.S.A., Adventureland, Tomorrowland, Fantasyland and Frontierland. At each stop, your MagicBand+ will unlock unique interactions and effects inspired by the opening day attractions, adding a little more nostalgia to your celebration.”
Plus, your MagicBand will interact with certain entertainment experiences, such as Paint the Night, Tapestry of Happiness, World of Color Happiness!, and Wondrous Journeys “through synchronized vibrations and glittering lights.”
You can snag the special Disneyland 70th-anniversary edition MagicBand+, use your old one, or even buy a design with your favorite character or ride! Remember, your MagicBand+ can work at Disneyland, Disney World, and even on board the Disney Cruise Line.
