'Moana 2' Has Been Streamed on Disney+ HOW MANY Times Already?!

Moana 2 will be released in theaters on November 27th, 2024, and over three months later, the hype is still going strong for one of Disney’s latest films.

After its theatrical run, Moana 2 joined the Disney+ lineup on March 12th, 2025. This is pretty typical, as Disney usually uploads its films to the streaming service about three months after their initial release. After just five days on the platform, millions have streamed it!

Moana 2 crushed it at the box office. In January of 2025, it surpassed $1 billion worldwide, making it the “third highest-grossing Walt Disney Animation Studios release of all time,” according to Disney. It also currently holds the title for the “biggest Thanksgiving weekend opening ever and the highest opening in Walt Disney Animation Studios’ history.”

Since the streaming platform debuted in 2019, the original film Moana has been the most streamed movie, and 2024 marked the year that the movie was streamed the most. In total, Moana has been streamed 1.4 billion hours!

Not only was the first film widely popular on Disney+ but just five days after it was uploaded for streaming, Moana 2 hit 27.3 million streams! We hope that since the film is continuing to do well, Disney will confirm that Moana 3 is in the works after the mid-credit scene of Moana 2 sets the franchise up for a potential third installment.
