According to Variety, Mufasa: The Lion King will arrive on Disney+ on March 26th, 2025. This prequel to The Lion King was released in theaters on December 20th, 2024.

After grossing over $700 million in the box office, Mufasa: The Lion King will soon be available to stream on Disney+! If you missed the movie in theaters or just want to watch it again, now is your chance.
While the movie can already be purchased online and on Blu-ray, on March 26th, you will be able to stream it on Disney+! The movie shows us the younger years of the future ruler, Mufasa, as Timon and Pumbaa tell his story to Kiara, the lion cub of Simba and Nala.

Barry Jenkins directed the movie, which features songs by award-winning songwriter Lin-Manuel Miranda and an original score by Dave Metzger. We can’t wait to watch the movie from the comfort of our sofa while snuggled up.

We are less than a month away from its release on Disney+, so now is the time to start planning those movie nights with your friends or family. In the meantime, there are still plenty of things to watch on Disney+. Moana 2 will be available to watch on March 12th, or you can check out Pixar’s original series, Win or Lose.
