You Need a SECRET CODE to Get Into This Universal Restaurant on Thursdays

We’re heading to Universal Orlando to uncover some well-kept secrets!

While the imminent opening of Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe dominates the headlines, one of our favorite seasons has been ongoing at the resort. Universal Orlando is celebrating Mardi Gras from February 1st to March 30th, 2025, and with that comes some fun Mardi Gras offerings — including some slightly secret ones!

When it comes to dining, shopping, and entertainment outside of the Universal theme parks, Universal CityWalk is the place to be. In fact, there’s one specific restaurant you’ll want to pay a visit to during this year’s Mardi Gras festivities!

Offering a taste of Bourbon Street, Pat O’Brien’s is a bayou bar offering entertainment featuring dueling piano players, a Cajun-inspired menu, pub classics, and cocktails like the Hurricane. During this Mardi Gras season, the restaurant is also turning into a speakeasy on certain days.

During the Mardi Gras festivities, Pat O’Brien’s is operating a speakeasy called 600 Block (a reference to the original address of Pat O’Briens in New Orleans) that features specialty food and drinks. It also requires a secret password to open.

We’ve heard some mumblings of what that password could be, but to be safe, we recommend talking to the bartenders downstairs, who can divulge that information.

The speakeasy is open on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
