This week, freezing temperatures are making their way to Florida, and Disney World is expected to see a huge drop. With low predictions in the upper 30s and high predictions in the high 50s, it’s not exactly water park weather. That’s why one of Disney World’s water parks has announced a multi-day closure!

According to the calendar on the Disney World website, Blizzard Beach will be closed on January 7th and 8th, 2025. Hours are posted again for January 9th, however, the weather looks like it will be just as chilly as the previous days, so it may be closed then as well.

Typhoon Lagoon is currently closed for refurbishment so both water parks will be closed this week. So if you were hoping to take advantage of Disney’s new hotel perk, you’re out of luck! The new perk began on January 1st and allows Disney World hotel guests to access a water park for free on their check-in day.

If this was your plan, we recommend popping over to Disney Springs or you could have a relaxing day at your resort. Don’t forget — you can also hop to other Disney World hotels to eat or explore!

Disney World typically sees a drop in temperatures during the winter, but it’s pretty rare to get this cold. Luckily, these days are expected to be nothing but sun, however, you’ll want to pack some extra layers.

Home!

We’ll keep you updated on if this closure is extended any longer past January 8th. Stay tuned to AllEars for more Disney World updates!
