2 Disneyland Rides are Closing in January with No Reopening Date in Sight

Two Disneyland Resort rides will be CLOSED next month!

Ride closures are a fact of life from visiting Disney theme parks. From quick closure that only last days to long refurbishments that can take over a year, it’s rare to find a day at Walt Disney World or the Disneyland Resort that doesn’t feature at least one closed ride or attraction.

Recently, we took a look at the Disneyland Resort’s calendar and found that not one, but three Disneyland Resort attractions will close on January 6th, 2025, with their reopening dates still yet to be announced.

Two of the rides in question are both located at Disney California Adventure:

Grizzly River Run, a “thrilling whitewater raft adventure that splashes you down a roaring California river deep in the mountains.”
Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind, a spinner attraction that brings riders “into the workplace of Riley’s Emotions—Joy, Sadness, Fear, Disgust and Anger.”

Currently, both attractions are scheduled to close on January 6th, and remain listed as closed through January 14th, the final date currently available on the Disneyland Resort calendar.

Emotional Whirlwind

The two rides join Great Moments With Mr. Lincoln, which is also down during this period as part of its ongoing transformation into Walt Disney – A Magical Life. In addition, the day after this closure, the Haunted Mansion will be closed to have its Nightmare Before Christmas overlay removed.
