There is a lot to plan for if you are heading to Disneyland Resort! However, we are here to help you every step of the way.
And that includes preparing you for the specific rules about bringing a bag into Disneyland Resort. You will want to know what you can and can’t bring, so you can make the security checkpoint as smooth as possible.
Disneyland Resort has some very specific rules about bringing bags into the parks, including how big they can be and what you can have in them. For starters, suitcases, bags, coolers or backpacks, with or without wheels, can’t be larger than 24″ long x 15″ wide x 18″ high. You will want to make sure the bag you are bringing isn’t too big.
In addition to size restrictions there are also a fairly long list of items that you can’t bring into the parks. A lot of the items are probably common sense, for examples you can’t bring firearms, knives, weapons of any kind, or fireworks. As well, you won’t be able to bring in marijuana or any illegal substance, objects or toys that look like weapons, or explosive objects.
There are also some restrictions on items that may disturb other guests. For instance, you can’t bring in horns, whistles, megaphones, noise makers, drones, remote-controlled toys, skateboards, scooters, skates, bicycles, or shoes with built-in wheels.
However, some items may be more of a surprise. There are no glass containers allowed except for small containers such as baby food jars. You also won’t be able to have selfie sticks or hand-held extension poles. Tripods and monopod stands that can’t fit inside a standard backpack or extend over 6 feet can’t be brought in either.
Make sure you also leave any flags or banners at home as they aren’t allowed. As well, alcoholic beverages can only be brought in if they are being brought into Downtown Disney to be consumed at select table service restaurants. If you are planning on bringing other food or drink in, make sure you aren’t using loose or dry ice in the bag. Disney recommends that you use re-usable ice packs instead.
While you can find a full list of prohibited items on the Disneyland website, and Disney is always working hard to make sure everyone stays safe. Disney also makes it clear that they reserve the right to not allow in any bag or item, even if it is not specifically listed. Just make sure to review the list and use common sense when deciding what items to bring with you to the parks.
