Three Secret Places ONLY Celebrities Get to Go in Disney World

Just like us, celebrities like to visit Disney World.

Magic Kingdom

Disney World was recently filled with celebrities for the taping of two Disney Christmas specials that will air in December. Elton John, Alphonso Riberio, Julianne, and Derek Hough were all spotted. So, how do celebrities get around the park? There are three places that celebrities can go to in Disney World.

You may have spotted a celebrity on a VIP tour, performing at EPCOT, or, as above, during a holiday taping.

Depending on their role, some Cast Members get to explore these three places, but many celebrities also get to explore them!

Cinderella Castle Suite

Did you know that there is actually a suite inside Cinderella Castle in the Magic Kingdom? This exclusive suite cannot be booked and instead is normally raffled off as part of a giveaway.

While we common folk may not get to stay in this dreamy suite, sometimes celebrities get to hang out in the suite or stay there when Disney World is hosting them.

Utilidors

When you are in the Magic Kingdom, walking up to Cinderella Castle, you are not actually on the first floor of the Magic Kingdom; instead, you are on the second floor. Hidden right under your feet are a secret set of tunnels to help Cast Members travel to different parts of the park without breaking the immersion.

While Magic Kingdom Cast Members use the utilidors, sometimes celebrities get to ride in them to manage the crowds surrounding them. Once again, using the example of holiday taping, celebrities can travel to different parts of the park more quickly using the utilidors.  There are also tours that allow guests to go in the tunnels as well.

Backstage at the America Gardens Theatre

Each festival, EPCOT hosts specialty entertainment at the America Gardens Theatre in the American Adventure in the World Showcase.

The EPCOT International Festival of the Arts hosts Disney Broadway performers. The EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival hosts different bands and artists during the Garden Rocks Concert Series. The Eat to the Beat Concert Series takes place during the EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival, which also features different artists and bands. Finally, to end the year, the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays hosts different celebrity narrators for the Candlelight Processional.

This means EPCOT hosts a lot of celebrities a year, all of whom have the opportunity to explore the parks throughout the day before their performances. As mentioned, these performances take place at the America Gardens Theater, which has a backstage area where these celebrities can hang out during their performances.

If you are interested in checking out some of these exclusive areas, you can book the Keys to the Kingdom Tour, which will take you through the Magic Kingdom’s utilidors! While you may not get to tour the Cinderella Castle Suite during the tour, you will get to say you walked right under the castle, which is pretty cool!

  1. Saw Joey Fatone and he actually came over to us when I yelled his name and he took a selfie with me! He took my camera and he snapped the pic!!! 😃

  2. This is what’s wrong with Disney. If Disney would realize that they could use things like this for exciting the people this could/would help them. Have staff walk around and offer a night in the suite for just being there, or do it with a tour. There is so many things they could do. I don’t understand their fascination with celebrities it did not do good for them yet or Kamala. Just not able to open their eyes I guess

    1. Disney has been working hard to eliminate the commoner from the parks. This just goes to show you how the elitism has infiltrated their Board

      1. So glad to see other folks are waking up to what a good friend, who is a former cast member, told me about 12 years ago. Disney does their very best to force the commoners out of the parks. If it wasn’t ever clear before, their “pay to play” pricing scheme of late should open your eyes.
