November through December is one of the busiest times of the year at Disney World. Once the Holiday season gets into full swing, events like the International Festival of the Holidays at EPCOT and Jollywood Nights at Hollywood Studios draw massive crowds and often lead to theme park reservations “selling out” (for the ticket types that still require reservations) on major days like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve. However, the Magic Kingdom is now sold out on… a random early Friday?

Reservations for the Magic Kingdom are currently showing as unavailable on Friday, November 8th. So, why is this early November Friday “sold out”? Two words: Very. Merry.

Crowds late at night

The 8th marks the first day of the 2024 installment of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party! While the party itself begins at 7:00PM and is an after-hours/separately ticketed event, many guests often choose to spend the day at the Magic Kingdom beforehand. This is especially true on opening day as they can begin preparing for the party and potential lines even earlier than the 4:00 entry time when those only holding a party ticket are allowed to enter the park.

Like in years past, the 2024 Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is scheduled to include “festive entertainment, a storybook holiday atmosphere, sweet treats and more,” according to Disney. Highlights of the event will include performances of Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas Parade, Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Show, Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration, character meet and greets, seasonal decor, ”snowfall” on Main Street, and special seasonal treats.
