2 Kinda Surprising Souvenir Trends We’re Seeing in Disney World Right Now

There are a lot of souvenirs to check out in Disney World…and I mean A LOT.

Disney Merchandise is our JAM!

Like, probably more than you or I could ever actually imagine. I’m personally partial to stuffed animals and pins rather than apparel, but I have friends of mine who love to grab Loungeflys when they come out or are always looking for a new collectionHowever, I have to admit that after being in the parks myself over the past few months and, of course, watching the latest AllEars YouTube videos, I’ve noticed two specific souvenir trends that I wasn’t expecting.

The first trend I can’t take credit for noticing first myself — an AllEars fan named John reached out to me on Instagram and asked if I’d noticed a very peculiar pattern involving ears.

Chef Figment Ears

He told me that he had noticed a decline in the number of people wearing ears after watching the past few months of AllEars videos. Curious, I went back through our videos myself, and he’s right! At the beginning of this year, in our various clips, you’ll see tons of people wearing ears around the parks. But now? Fewer guests are donning the popular souvenir!

Nightmare Before Christmas Sally Ears

So now came the ultimate question — why the switch? Ears still seem to be selling with little to no issue, and no one on our team has noticed anything that would explain a declining quality or lack of cute designs (since pretty much all of us are tempted to buy new ones whenever we see them). While we may never know for sure what’s causing the decline, I have a personal theory — I think it has to do with the heat. Ears already aren’t the most comfortable things to wear (especially if they have sequins — don’t get me STARTED on SEQUINS), and when it’s sweltering hot in Disney World, you’re already going to be uncomfortable — why make yourself MORE uncomfortable by wearing ears and giving yourself a headache?

And the second thing I noticed came to my mind when I saw a picture of Sage, actually, and I think you’ll see exactly what I mean the moment you see it.

Yes, that’s Sage wearing a LONG SLEEVED SPIRIT JERSEY in JUNE. If you’ve ever been to Disney World in June, you know how HOT summer is, but is he on to something here? Keeping your skin protected from the sun is a great way to avoid the scorching rays of the hot Florida sun, after all!

Sometimes, wearing the longer layers is WORTH it to protect yourself from the sun. Plus, Spirit Jerseys are just plain FUN to wear!

Spirt Jersey!

I’ve wondered why Disney sells Spirit Jerseys all year round instead of just during the coolers months, and I think this could be a reason why! Yes, it’s also because people will buy them to just wear them later in the year, but if you’ve bought one and then you head into a dining reservation that has the AC CRANKING and it’s freezing, OR you’ve been wearing one all day with the sleeves rolled up, now everyone else is cold, and you’re comfortable.  Basically, sorry for questioning you, Sage, I will never doubt you again. 🫡
