Specific Timeline Confirmed for Construction on Disney's Avengers Campus Expansion!

If you thought you would be walking through the same Disney parks you’re used to soon, you should check again!

Just weeks ago, Disney announced plans for new groundbreaking experiences, rides, and expansions which held quite the chokehold over anyone who loves the Disneyland parks and entertainment. While we knew to anticipate changes and construction to begin at some point for these teased projects, we didn’t know exactly how soon we could see it in action — until now!

When The Walt Disney Company took to the stage during D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event they released some whoppers of information about multiple projects Disney already has confirmed to be in progress.

Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase

One of these upcoming projects will continue to broaden the experiences found with Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure and will expand the land’s already immersively themed area.

While the initial announcement just told of what was next in store for Avengers Campus, we didn’t get too many specifics. However, after Disney said the project would start construction in 2025, we now know it will begin specifically in early 2025. This new construction will make way for new rides and experiences like Avengers Infinity Defense which were teased in the earlier announcement!

Avengers Infinity Defense will have guests join in battle across the multiverse alongside the Avengers to defeat King Thanos and recover stolen Stark technology.

This construction will also mark the beginning of the end (for now) of a beloved attraction. Construction in this area will require the removal of the backstage Red Car Trolley barn. This iconic experience is slated to be discontinued in early 2025 as Disney California Adventure makes way for the incoming construction.

It’s unclear what the future holds for the attraction, but we should get details later this winter on a closing date.
