We’ve Got an Important UPDATE If You’re Driving to Disney World Soon

Getting to Disney World isn’t always easy depending on how you do it!

Driving to Disney World

If you’re flying, your flight could be delayed or even canceled altogether. And, if you’re driving, we probably don’t need to tell you about a little thing called traffic, do we? Didn’t think so. If you’re driving to Disney World soon, there’s a road closure you might want to know about.

Disney Vacation Planner

Heads up if you normally drive to Disney World and are planning a trip soon! According to WKMG, there will be two weekends in July when one road in the area will be closed for maintenance.

Driving around Disney World is an option!

The closures involve the Interstate 4 off-ramp to northbound Orange Blossom Trail (U.S. 17-92/U.S. 441) in Orlando so that crews can complete concrete pavement work. From 10PM to 5AM on July 18th through 22nd, and again at those same times from July 25th to July 29th, the off-ramp will be closed.

But, if you normally take this route, don’t worry! There are some alternative options for you:

  • Motorists traveling eastbound on I-4 wishing to travel north on Orange Blossom Trail will be directed to take Exit 79 to South John Young Parkway, turn right onto southbound South John Young Parkway, turn left onto eastbound 33rd Street, turn left onto northbound South Rio Grande Avenue, and turn right onto eastbound West Michigan Street before reaching Orange Blossom Trail.
  • Drivers who pass the John Young Parkway exit may also take Exit 81 at Kaley Avenue, where they can turn left to head west on Kaley Avenue before reaching Orange Blossom Trail.

Make sure you pay attention to any potential signs in the area for the most up-to-date information. Luckily, it doesn’t seem like this will have too much of an impact on Disney World but it’s still an important closure to know about if you’re a local who uses these routes.
