June 2024 is shaping up to be an incredibly important month for Disney World!
Highlighted by the grand opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom on June 28th, 2024, Disney World is about to get some pretty big changes in June! The big date to circle is June 10th, when four massive changes go into effect.
On June 10th, FOUR new offerings will make their way to Disney World! These offerings include brand-new entertainment centers, shows, and character meet-and-greets. Let’s jump right in and go over what you can expect to see!
CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza
The biggest change is the opening of CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza on June 10th at EPCOT! After years of planning, these venues will become a dedicated Festival area and serve as a hub for EPCOT’s seasonal Festivals. The first festival coming to CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza will be the 2024 EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival from August 29th through November 23rd, 2024.
CommuniCore Plaza is an outdoor space where guests can enjoy Festival entertainment while CommuniCore Hall is a multipurpose hall inside that plaza that will host different kinds of experiences with food, art, live music, and more.
¡Celebración Encanto!
Opening with CommuniCore Hall and Plaza is a new Encanto stage show called ¡Celebración Encanto!. This show will take place on the CommuniCore Plaza Stage and will feature a sing-along with fan-favorite characters like Maribel and Buno.
The new show will run until September 6th, 2024 several times a day. You’ll be able to check the My Disney Experience app for showtimes.
Joy Debuts at Hollywood Studios
When Joy from Pixar’s Inside Out left EPCOT, we couldn’t help but feel disappointed. However, that disappointment didn’t last long as she will make her Disney’s Hollywood Studios debut on June 10th!
Heading over to Hollywood Studios just before the release of Inside Out 2 on June 14th, Joy will join other Pixar character meet-and-greets at Pixar Plaza. She could ultimately move back to EPCOT, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
The Lion King 30th Anniversary Celebration
Want to feel old? Disney Animation’s The Lion King is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year and with it is coming some temporary changes at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
The celebration will run from June 10th through September 6th, 2024, and will include a meet-and-greet with Timon and Rafiki at Conservation Station, an animation experience where you can learn to draw characters from The Lion King, photo opportunities in Africa, and special food and merchandise.
