NEWS: Disney PAUSES Magic Key Pass Sales

Okay, Disneyland people. If you’ve been thinking about getting a Magic Key pass (aka Disneyland’s version of an Annual Pass), you might have been reading up on everything a pass offers.

Of course, you get to visit Disneyland and Disney California Adventure on a regular basis, but a Magic Key can also get you some great discounts, as well as exclusive merchandise, early previews of rides, access to exclusive lounges, and more. However, if you’ve been thinking about getting a Magic Key soon, we have to warn you: Magic Key pass sales have been put on pause.

Now, if you understand how Magic Key passes work, you’ll know that sales of new passes are limited, so passes can sell out, meaning that Disney will put Magic Key sales on hold. This only applies to NEW Magic Key passes, though. A few months ago, in March, Disneyland began to offer new Magic Key passes, again, but as of now, you can no longer buy them.

However, if you currently have a Magic Key pass, you can still renew it during your renewal window (you have up to 30 days before your pass is set to expire). So you can renew an existing pass, but you cannot buy a new pass.

So how long will you have to wait to get a new pass? Well, it depends. Disney will only open up new pass sales once they’re available again (as we mentioned, passes are limited). Earlier this year, there was a period of about two months between Magic Key pass sales being paused and then opening back up.

When passes are on sale, four options are available:

Inspire Key: $1,649
Believe Key: $1,249
Enchant Key: $849
Imagine Key; $499

Each pass option has its own specific features, so if you are considering a pass for when Magic Key sales open again, you can visit the Disneyland website for more details.

In the meantime, all four pass types can be renewed.
