Do These 10 Disney World Things Actually Deserve Their HARSH 1-Star Yelp Reviews?

We spend a lot of time telling you about the best-rated things in Disney World!

Cinderella Castle

But there are rides that some people just don’t like. LOTS of people just don’t like, actually. So today instead of bringing you the highly rated ride and restaurants in Disney World — we’re looking at the ones that got 1-star reviews on Yelp. Let’s take a look!

Quincy and Sage made a video looking at these low-rated Disney World things, and gave them their own ratings. You can watch it right here.

Now let’s take a look at these low-rated rides and what Quincy and Sage had to say about them!

Tomorrowland Speedway

This ride dates all the way back to opening day at Disney World — Oct. 1st, 1971. On it, you drive diesel-powered cars on a 2,000 foot track (with rails to guide your cars). Top speed is 7 miles per hour, and well, that’s not very fast — or very thrilling.

Tomorrowland Speedway

Combine that with the fact that you’re in full sun on this ride and it can be very hot, and you’re smelling diesel fumes the whole time, and well, this just isn’t our favorite ride. Nor is it the favorite of Yelp reviewers who gave it one star! But we’re feeling a little more charitable — it usually has a pretty short wait, and kids tend to like it.

Tomorrowland Speedway

Our tips here are to ride this on cooler days or after dark — or skip it unless you really love it. Quincy says: If you can drive a real car, this is less fun than that, and that’s not really fun.

‘it’s a small world’

This is another “opening day attraction” in Magic Kingdom. It’s a slow-moving boat ride into a world filled with animatronic dolls in traditional costumes from many cultures around the world.

“it’s a small world” in Magic Kingdom

The styling of the ride was designed by artist Mary Blair. And while some reviewers mention that the dolls are “creepy,” it’s the SONG — the Sherman Brothers song that plays throughout the ride — that seems to really annoy some folks.

“it’s a small world”

As for the bad reviews, Quincy and Sage say that it is kind of cool to “hate on” this ride, and it’s a must-do part of at least your first Disney trip because it’s so well-known and historic. That said, it’s a pretty basic attraction and you probably don’t need to do it EVERY time you’re in Magic Kingdom/

Casey’s Corner

Casey’s Corner is one of the most popular eateries on Main Street, U.S.A. It a baseball-themed fast food restaurant serves up hot dogs, corn dogs nuggets, and French fries, and it seems like it’s always packed.

Casey’s Corner

The Yelp 1-start reviews of this restaurant note that the food here is similar to what you would get at Costco for much cheaper.

Casey’s Corner

Sage says he’s never been thrilled with a hot dog at Casey’s — the only thing he enjoys is the mini corn dogs. Quincy said she enjoys the hot dogs, plant-based dog, and loaded fries, but they are pretty basic. But, she says it’s a classic Disney location, and that brings the ratings up.

Enchanted Tiki Room

This show with animatronic birds is another opening day attraction in Disney World. Yelp reviewers said the show is lackluster and boring.

Enchanted Tiki Room

Quincy said it’s a classic, but it’s just skippable. It’s sweet and it’s funny. But it’s just not special. Sage, however, said it’s classic, and the perfect spot to soak up some air conditioning and wind down. “Filler attractions are important,” he said.

  • Quincy: 2 stars
  • Sage: 4 stars

Under the Sea — Journey of the Little Mermaid

This slow-moving dark ride tells the story of the Little Mermaid. You ride in a clamshell while watching animatronics and hearing the familiar songs from the movie.

Under the Sea — Journey of the Little Mermaid in Disney World

Yelp reviewers said that the animatronics here are not up to par with others in Disney World.

This ride is a classic!

Quincy and Sage said it’s good for little ones, especially. Quincy said her biggest issue is that it skips the climactic scene with Ursula from the movie.

Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor

This show in Tomorrowland appears to use animatronics but does use live actors. The audience members are often the punch lines for the jokes, and for that reason, the show is a bit different every time you watch.

Hello, humans!

Yelp reviewers that gave this show 1 star did not like the audience interactions. Sage said that he thinks this show is very funny, and Quincy said it’s one of her favorite shows in Disney World. She said it’s often heartwarming, but it’s not a stand-out attraction.

Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover

This ride is an elevated tram that takes you on a tour of Tomorrowland in the Magic Kingdom. It is beloved by many classic Disney World fans.

PeopleMover

Yelp reviewers said it is just a train, and that it was scary because the ride goes through some dark areas. Quincy and Sage said that it IS essentially a train, but getting to see inside other rides makes it more exciting. It’s also relaxing.

Cosmic Ray’s

This classic restaurant serves up classic theme park food like cheeseburgers, fries, and chicken tenders. This restaurant has lots of indoor seating.

Mobile Order at Cosmic Ray’s in Magic Kingdom

Yelp reviewers said this food is just basic, and we generally agree. It’s definitely not the best food you can find in Disney World. Quincy and Sage had a cheeseburger and said that it is overpriced and basic, but reliable theme park food. If you go here, go for the safe bets like burgers. It’s really good for picky eaters, and it’s just always there and reliable.

  • Quincy: 3 stars
  • Sage: 2 stars

Be Our Guest

This is a very popular restaurant in Magic Kingdom. The dining rooms are incredibly themed, but the food is pretty lackluster for the price.

Be Our Guest restaurant

The Yelp reviewers said just what we think — you pay a high price for lackluster food. One reviewer said you could get better food “at a local prison.” Whoops. Quincy and Sage said the only reason to rate it above a 1-star is because of the atmosphere.

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

This is a family-coaster in Magic Kingdom. It’s a swinging coaster that takes you down into the Seven Dwarfs’ diamond mine. It’s one of the most in-demand rides in Disney World, and it usually has the longest standby waits.

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

Yelp reviewers said the ride just isn’t worth the wait. Sage said it’s a great family coaster, but it’s not as thrilling as Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.  Quincy said the dwarf animatronics are amazing. But they both think the ride is just too short for the wait.
