TIMELINE REVEALED for Disney Channel's Wizards of Waverly Place Sequel

Back in January, we found out that Wizards of Waverly Place will be seeing a sequel! When it was announced, Disney didn’t share many details aside from a pilot episode being ordered, and who the cast will be. Well, we just got some new UPDATES on this sequel! Let’s take a look.

If you didn’t live your life watching Disney Channel in the mid-2000s, let us fill you in! This show followed a family of young wizards who are all learning to reign in their magic, and will be competing for the spot of the family wizard. We witnessed all of their trials and tribulations, as well as saw their everyday life and what they got up to.

After filming the pilot episode, it’s official: Disney Channel has given its series order to begin filming the sequel.

So, what will this sequel look like? Let’s talk about it.

The series is currently titled “Wizards”, and will follow Justin Russo as he tries to navigate his normal, human life with his family. Then, all of a sudden, a young wizard in need of training shows up at his doorstep — and Justin decides to take on the challenge. This is all following a “mysterious incident” at WizTech.

Selena Gomez will reprise her role as Alex Russo in the pilot episode, but we shouldn’t expect to see her much in the series. However, David Henrie will be a series regular as his character Justin Russo.

We’ll also be meeting Justin’s young family in this series, and get a sneak peek into what his life has been like since he gave up his wizard powers to live his human life.
