When we hear the words “free” and “dining” in the same sentence, our ears perk up. Of course, we’ve been around the block enough to know that there’s really no such thing as completely free dining in Disney World (you’re probably paying more for another part of your vacation, in this case), but hey — a deal’s a deal, right?

Back in the day, Disney fans used to carefully watch for free dining promotions and jump on those deals whenever possible. Now that the Disney Dining Plan is back in 2024, things are a little different. Let’s talk about why that matters.
What is the Disney Dining Plan?
First, let’s cover the basics. The Disney Dining Plan is a special promotion that allows guests to prepay for their meals in exchange for dining credits that can be put toward meals at various Disney World locations.
There are two Dining Plan options in 2024:
- Quick Service Dining Plan — Each person over 3 years old gets:
- 2 Quick-Service Meals
- Quick-Service Meals include one Quick-Service Meal, including Entrée OR Combo meal with a Non-alcoholic Beverage
- 1 Snacks or Non-Alcoholic Drinks
- 1 Resort-Refillable Mug

- Basic Disney Dining Plan — Each person over age 3 gets:
- One Table Service Meal
- For breakfast, this includes an entree and non-alcoholic beverage OR one full buffet.
- For lunch/dinner this includes full buffet, or entree, dessert, and non-alcoholic beverage. Children 3-9 can also have an appetizer at lunch/dinner
- One Quick-Service Meal
- Quick-Service Meals include one Quick-Service Meal, including Entrée OR Combo meal with a Non-alcoholic Beverage
- One Snacks or Non-alcoholic Drinks
- One Resort-Refillable Drink Mug (per person)
- One Table Service Meal

There’s a LOT to consider when buying the Disney Dining Plan. Luckily, we have tons of helpful information all about it!

FREE Dining
OK, now that we’re all acquainted with the Dining Plan, let’s talk about the latest news. Disney recently announced a NEW Dining Plan promotion for Disney+ subscribers. Disney+ subscribers can purchase a Disney World vacation package and get a FREE dining plan.

The free dining plan is available for those who purchase a 4-night, 4-day package that includes a room at a select Disney hotel and a theme park ticket with a Park Hopper option. You can also purchase longer packages; the 4-night, 4-day package is the minimum to qualify for the deal.

What’s the big deal?
We touched on this earlier, but let’s really get into what we mean here. Back in the day, Disney fans would scour the internet for clues about if or when a free dining deal may arrive. People love the idea of FREE access to the Dining Plan, after all!

The free dining deal was pretty popular before the pandemic. In fact, Disney used to play into the hype by adding an element of exclusivity to the deal — it wasn’t open to everyone all at once! Previously, free dining offers were sent to an exclusive group of people, then later, the deal would roll out to a broader group. Now that the deal is back in 2024, we may see a familiar pattern.

Currently, the free dining deal is open exclusively to Disney+ subscribers. But who knows — maybe in the future, that deal will extend to other Disney fans! If you don’t have Disney+, don’t lose all hope. You never know when Disney may share more news!

Of course, we can’t guarantee that the free dining deal will change, but we never say never around here! Our best advice? Keep your eyes on your email inbox (and AllEars.net, of course!) — Disney drops new discounts all the time.

Don’t forget to book that Disney World vacation as soon as possible if you’re planning to take advantage of the new Disney+ offer. The deal won’t last forever! In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more.
