Every Show ABC Canceled This Year (and Why They'll Keep Canceling Shows in 2024)

Who else loves spending their spare time in front of the TV?

It’s been a BIG, hectic year for television and the entertainment industry, with the writers’ and actors’ strikes that led to show delays and cancelations. Some streaming platforms removed shows, while networks canceled shows entirely. One of those networks is ABC (owned by Disney), who canceled nine (!!!) shows this year.

Without further ado, here are the nine shows that got cancelled in 2023.

So… WHY did all these cancelations happen? Well, as we mentioned, both the actors’ and writers’ strikes played a huge role in this. Loss of manpower in the studios led to underperformances, and a loss of income from these strikes led to the inability to create more content that viewers enjoy. Some of these just didn’t meet viewers’ expectations and received low ratings!

Now, though, those strikes have ended. The consequences of the strikes, however, will continue to play out over the course of the next few years. Many Disney movies have been delayed, and we have our fingers crossed that shows and movies won’t be canceled, but it’s totally possible.
