2023 marks the 10-year anniversary of Frozen, and believe us when we say that this knowledge makes us feel OLD.

It’s safe to say that the love that folks have for this movie is still very much prevalent, as Frozen merch flies off the shelf QUICK in the Disney Parks, the line for Frozen Ever After in EPCOT remains excruciatingly long, and Hong Kong Disneyland just successfully opened the first-ever Frozen-themed land. Now, we have some details on what we can expect regarding even MORE Frozen stuff throughout the Disney Parks. Let’s talk about it!
Disney CEO Bob Iger, Parks, Experiences, and Products Chairman Josh D’Amaro, Chief Creative Officer Jennifer Lee, and Disney Entertainment Co-chairman Alan Bergman talked to USA Today about the future of the Frozen franchise in the Disney Parks.

Iger said, “It goes without saying that Frozen is probably one of our most successful franchises ever.” We already knew that Disney was planning to allocate $60 billion to park expansions over the next decade, but what are Disney’s plans regarding adding Frozen to those expansions?

D’Amaro commented, “Our ambitions here are clear. [Lee and Bergman] have given us amazing stories. And I plan to tell those stories. At the Disneyland Resort, we’ve talked about the project called DisneylandForward. Essentially, we have enough space there to build a new Disneyland if we’d like. Walt Disney World was always designed to be expanding. You know what we’ve done at EPCOT … Our international parks are doing so well for us, and we have space and ambition to continue to go on that front.”

So, the executives assure us that there is PLENTY of space for expansion, and they later commented that there is no shortage of ideas and IP when it comes to what these expansions could include. Regarding Frozen, Lee said, “There is more Frozen to come. And I’m so excited about where the story is going, and so you’re going to need more space to expand.”

EEP! So, it sounds like the execs were hinting at the fact that Frozen could be a HUGE part of the upcoming expansions. We’ll continue to keep you updated on any and all Disney news, so make sure to follow along for more.
