I'll Never Buy This Disney World Souvenir Again

If there’s one thing that’s universally true about Disney World it’s that there is a LOT of merch!

It doesn’t help that it feels like every ride and experience leads directly into yet another gift shop. This really got us thinking, and that’s why we asked you to share what Disney World merchandise you regretted buying on your Disney trip.

As we said, there are a lot of thoughts when it comes to merch in Disney World and it really became clear when we headed to our Facebook page to ask…

Popcorn Buckets

Many of you expressed regret over buying popcorn buckets on your trips. Even though they are very popular souvenirs, you found that they gave you a lot of challenges especially when traveling. Also, many times you rarely used them ever again when you got home.

One reader shared, “Having my kids who always like to have a snack, I never regret buying a popcorn bucket while we are at the parks but they take up a lot of room to take home on the plane.”

Another person shared, “I mean I love our popcorn buckets but what do I do with them now… ?”

Another one shared, “Popcorn buckets. Love my backpack, spirit jerseys but the popcorn buckets we don’t even use when we go back.”

Banshees

Some of our readers regret purchasing banshees, which are creatures from Pandora in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. They found these to be expensive and not worth the investment.

One reader shared, “A banshee. Husband moved it from one cupboard to another this year and he got it out for 5 mins. We bought it in 2017 and that was the first time it came out. Don’t even like the film.”

Another reader mentioned, “Banshee’s. We bought one for each of the kids right after the Flight of Passage opened. Worst investment ever, lol.”

Spirit Jerseys

Some of our readers mentioned regretting purchasing their Disney spirit jerseys. Even though the spirit jerseys have great colorful designs and uniquely themed graphics, you shared that the discomfort and impracticality of these spirit jerseys led some of you to feel buyer’s remorse.

One reader shared, “Kinda my Spirit Jersey. It’s cute..but STIFF. It doesn’t keep me warm at all. Paper thin. ?”

Another shared, “Spirit jerseys…I just don’t wear them ?”

Anniversary Merchandise

Some of our readers mentioned regretting purchasing anniversary-themed merchandise, such as jackets or shirts celebrating special milestones like Disney’s 50th or 100th anniversary.

One reader shared, “A 50th-anniversary jacket, I have never worn it, just sits in my closet.”

Another reader mentioned, “I bought the 50th anniversary and 100th anniversary spirit jerseys. I love the design but not the fit! They just don’t look good on me. I could have chosen better anniversary items, like the Loungefly or hoodie!”

How About Nothing?!

In what might have been the largest group by far, so many of you mentioned that you did not regret buying anything! You had no regrets when it came to the Disney merch you purchased!

One reader shared, “I don’t regret any of it.”

Another shared, “I don’t regret any purchase!! That’s because I also know better than buying a balloon along Main Street USA. ?”

Another reader shared, “I regret nothing. ?”
