Buckle up Marvel fans, we’ve got some HUGE news!

During Destination D23 in 2022, Disney announced that Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure Park (in Disneyland Resort) would be EXPANDING to include the multiverse. We also got details about the NEW multiverse-themed ride that would be coming to this space and would even feature King Thanos. But now Disney has dropped even more major news about this attraction.
During Destination D23 (the biggest Disney fan event of 2023), Disney shared that Avengers are developing new technology that will allow Avengers Campus to become a hub. Brent Strong, from Disney Imagineering, shared that there will be a new vehicle coming to the new King Thanos attraction.

The new ride vehicle can transport recruits to new worlds in a matter of moments. It will take a new generation of recruits for a multi-world mission. There is still no opening date or timeline for this new attraction. Take a look at the new concept art below.

Let’s go through what we already knew about this Marvel expansion for context. Quite a long time ago, Disney had shared that another attraction would be coming to Avengers Campus eventually, but news about that hadn’t been shared in a long time — until the D23 Expo in 2022.

Previously, Disney had said that this second e-ticket attraction would be a Quinjet-based ride that would transport guests to Wakanda. It’s not clear if this is the same attraction, taking the place of the older attraction, or will just be an entirely separate attraction.

What we do know is that the new ride will let guests join their favorite Marvel superheroes to battle villains from all across the Multiverse.
One of those new characters will be King Thanos — who will make his MCU debut in the new ride.

Avengers Campus is also set to get a new store in mid-September. Avengers Vault will feature Infinity Saga relics arriving at the Disneyland Resort for the first time, apparel, and other popular Marvel souvenirs.

We’re keeping an eye out for more news about the Avengers Campus store, expansion, and new multiverse ride, so be sure to check back for more.
Destination D23 could bring even more HUGE updates and we’ll be sharing them all with you. Follow along on our social media channels — Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter — for all the latest.
