8 Ways Disney Springs Has CHANGED in 2023

Things are always changing in Disney World.

New rides open, old rides close to get reimagined into new rides, new restaurants open, and there’s a lot of construction all over the resort. Disney Springs is also no stranger to change. Just in 2023 alone, the shopping and dining district has seen a lot of big changes.

Store Closures

Disney Springs saw quite a few stores close in the first half of 2023. Sosa Family Cigar Co. closed on January 2nd. This was one of the few shops that remained in Disney Springs from its Pleasure Island days.

A few months later, the Ugg Store closed its doors permanently in Disney Springs. Melissa Clube closed in May. This spot was a shoe store. Just recently, the Everything But Water store also closed its doors forever.

Store Openings

The good news is that one new store has opened in Disney Springs and it’s a first-of-its-kind. Corkcicle opened a merchandise store in Disney Springs in April. So we can get some of our favorite drinkware at a one-stop shop now!

Store Changes

Some stores also CHANGED over the course of early 2023. Alex and Ani actually switched locations. It used to be located near Frontera Cocina and the Disney Springs Welcome Center. Now, you can find Alex and Ani behind Anthropologie and across from Zara. Alex and Ani believe that the new store offers a more personalized experience for its customers.

Another store temporarily closed and then reopened with a completely new look! Tren-D got a makeover fit for a princess, with loads of floral details and silhouettes of Disney characters throughout. However, we did note that it seems the dressing rooms were removed during this remodel.

Coming Soon

But big changes are still ahead of Disney Springs! A new restaurant, Summer House at the Lake, is expected to open in late 2023. ANOTHER new restaurant was recently announced for Disney Springs, EET by Maneet Chauhan. And Bowes Signature Candles (as seen in Marketplace Co-Op and the Days of Christmas Store) will have its own location on the West Side of Disney Springs in Fall 2023.

Although it’s always a little sad when stores and restaurants close, there are a lot of NEW things to look forward to that are on the way. That’s the case with Disney Springs, so here’s to the rest of 2023.
