Annual passes are a HOT topic in the Disney fandom!

Over the past few years, both Disney World and Disneyland Resort have changed their annual pass systems, and pass sales have only been available on and off recently. But soon, you’ll be able to buy passes for Disney World again!
Annual Pass Sales Are Returning
Disney World has announced that all annual pass tiers will go back on sale on April 20th, 2023. When the passes go back on sale, there will be limited quantities and so it’s possible that they will sell out.

While sales of Pixie Dust passes have been available for a while, Disney will be bringing back sales of the Incredi-Pass, the Sorcerer Pass, and the Pirate Pass. The pricing for the passes remains the same as the updated pricing from late 2022.

The Pixie Dust and Pirate passes are available only to Florida residents. Florida residents and Disney Vacation Club members can purchase the Sorcerer Pass, and anyone can purchase the Incredi-Pass.
How Does This Affect Current Passholders?
But what about those who already have an annual pass? Well, this update could be a good thing for you, if you’re hoping to upgrade your pass tier!
On April 20th, current Annual Passholders will be allowed to upgrade their annual pass, even if outside of their renewal window. Keep in mind that if you would like to do this, you’ll have to pay the difference in full at the time of the upgrade.

The new pass level will have the same expiration date as your annual pass did originally, so this may not be advisable if you have a short amount of time left until it expires. However, this could be helpful to many current Passholders who were stuck in the Pixie Dust tier, since it was the only one available for sale for so long.
When Else Can You Upgrade?
If you just have a few weeks or months left on your pass and don’t want to pay the full difference to upgrade for a short amount of time, know that you’ll still be given the option to upgrade when it’s time to renew your pass (which is something that has been available for a long time).

We’ll keep an eye on things and let you know if there are any policy updates in the future.

So there you go — everything you need to know about upgrading your annual pass! New sales will go live online on April 20th, so be prepared to jump on that right away if you want to upgrade or purchase a new pass. We’ll keep you updated with all the news!
