As much as we plan, no Disney World trip is perfect.
Even if the park passes are booked and everything else is in line, all kinds of problems can unexpectedly ruin your Disney World day. This includes technical issues to menu changes you didn’t anticipate. But there’s another thing you’ll want to mentally prepare for, and that’s sudden ride closures.
We see rides suddenly close all of the time in Disney World and even on the busiest days, popular rides will go down. That happened on March. 12th at Magic Kingdom where two popular rides were down in the afternoon on a busy Sunday.
We checked the My Disney Experience app and saw that Pirates of the Caribbean…
…and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad were down at the same time.
This is a temporary closure and the time it takes for the ride to get up and running again varies on the issue. If you’re in the park, keep checking the My Disney Experience app for the most up-to-date wait times.

Have you ever been in line for a ride when it suddenly closed? Let us know in the comments!
I just got back from a trip to Disney with my great grandchildren and granddaughter. I was so disappointed. It seems that Disney is doing nothing but ripping off their customers pricing is out of the park. It’s very sad.
