4 Universal Orlando Rides Went Down EVERY Day Last Week

Universal are you okay?

Universal

Universal has been pretty busy lately with big construction changes at the new Universal Epic Universe park, updates to the annual pass holder lounge, and their newest addition to City Walk, The Great Movie Escape. Now it seems like maybe that has caught up with the parks because they were struggling last week!

Last week, Universal seemed to be struggling a bit because several rides went down every day of the week. Starting off, Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit™  has been down 13 times in the last 8 days. This ride was recently refurbished in August of 2022 so it was a bit surprising the ride was down so frequently last week.

Another ride that went down consistently last week was Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls. This water ride was down 10 times in the past 7 days. Normally we don’t love it when a ride goes down, but with the weather as cold as it was last week, we didn’t mind this time.

Another ride that was having a tough week was Jurassic Park River Adventureâ„¢. Jurassic Park was closed 30 times in the past 8 days! Can you believe that? More than likely, this water ride was impacted by the freezing temperatures that hit Orlando last week but we were still pretty surprised by that number.

Finally, The Cat in the Hat joins the list of rides that needed help recently. The ride based on the Dr. Seuss classic went down 26 times in the past 8 days! This ride is an indoor, dark ride so we it was likely having some technical issues here.

Overall, these Universal rides were having a tough week but hey, we’ve all been there! Between the bad weather and constant Florida rainstorms for the water attractions to technical difficulties during a busy time of year, these are the rides to watch out for when visiting Universal Orlando. If they’re open and it’s a must-do, hop on it when you can!

  1. 9 times out of 10, these rides go down for guest safety reasons. Like guest standing up or putting parts of their bodies outside of a ride vehicle. Rocket can’t operate in winds of 30 mph. And so forth and so on. And besides, it’s not just a Universal problem. There’s plenty of downtimes to go around at Disney and SeaWorld.
