Bob Iger Replaces Bob Chapek

So the biggest news of the week is no secret because it very nearly broke the Internet: Bob Chapek stepped down as CEO of the Walt Disney Company and former Ceo Bob Iger returned as CEO. Iger will serve as CEO of the company for the next two years.

As a result of the announcement, Disney stock prices began to rise again as everyone waits for Iger to reveal his vision for the company moving forward. The news itself was the TALK of social media as many welcomed Iger back into the company’s leadership role.

Strange World in Theaters Now

Disney’s newest animated film is now in theaters! Strange World follows a family of legendary explorers searching for treasure and has some pretty big names as its voice cast, including Jake Gyllenhaal, Gabrielle Union, and Dennis Quaid. Tickets are available at theaters across the U.S. right now!

The movie had a preview day earlier this week, and box office numbers were low after that, at $800,000, according to Variety. Predictions before the release had it taking in between $30 million to $40 million over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, though, so we’ll have to see if it reaches those numbers.
