‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ Director Writes Heartfelt Letter to Fans

With Marvel Comics based film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever setting records at the box office, Director Ryan Coogler has written a note to his fans thanking them for their support.

With Thanksgiving being a time to stop and reflect on what your grateful for, Marvel took to its social media to post Coogler’s letter expressing his gratitude to all that fans across the world who saw his film.

“Gratitude. That is the only word that comes to mind for your support of our work on the film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” Coogler said. “I am filled with it.”

Coogler, who also directed the first Black Panther film for Marvel, thanked fans of every generation for coming out to support a film that was over 2 and a half hours, had emotional weight and still had communities of people come out and watch it multiple times.

Coogler went on to thank fans for supporting the film that was made to honor his friend that previously lead that franchise as the titular Black Panther, Chadwick Boseman, who passed away in 2020.

“Thank you for opening up yourself to the emotional journey of this film,” Coogler said. “We made something to honor our friend, who was a giant in our industry.”

Coogler said he was grateful for the support throughout his time as the director of the franchise and looked forever to creating more stories in the future.

“I thank you for giving me professional purpose, and an emotional outlet,” Coogler said. “I look forward to bringing you more stories in the future.”

Coogler signed the note with the phrases, “Chadwick Forever” and “Long Live T’Challa” to honor Boseman who starred as the Black Panther across four films during his time in the MCU.

Wakanda Forever has been a great success celebrating being No. 1 Worldwide in the box office for its first two weeks of release, making over $597 million.
