The D23 Expo has not disappointed when it comes to major announcements.
We have seen news for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, an opening timeline for TRON in Magic Kingdom, and news of a NEW multiverse-themed ride at Avengers Campus.
During the Disney Parks panel, Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, Josh D’Amaro, started talking about the idea of bringing something new to DinoLand at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
While he was quick to point out that the idea is still in the “Blue Sky” stage (meaning it’s still being considered as an idea, and has not been given the green light for construction), D’Amaro brought out Jennifer Lee from Walt Disney Animations Studios, and Chris Beatty from Walt Disney Imagineering to discuss ideas that were being discussed.

Specifically, they both spoke to discussions of Moana and Zootopia being movies that could potentially come to the current DinoLand area. While nothing is confirmed yet, they did share potential concept art for what they are imagining.
Additionally, the pair brought up the potential of a Coco-themed area and attraction coming to Magic Kingdom, as well as a potential villains-themed land or Encanto-inspired. While none of these are locked in just yet, the discussion was an interesting look into how the process works when it comes to adding more to the parks.

Definitely Moana
Moana is already taking over a big section of Epcot. We don’t need her in two Parks, especially when there are so many other options.
