It seems like no one (and no product or service) is safe from recent price increases across the globe.

Oddly enough, though, it hasn’t appeared to stop people from wanting to get out and travel. If the pent-up need to travel has made you want to book a cruise — we’ve got an important price increase you need to know about.
The travel industry has been struggling to fight its way back to what it once was, and it seems like almost everything has been affected. Prices are on the rise, and that might not stop anytime soon. For folks who have been looking to set sail on a cruise with Royal Caribbean, there’s another price hike to worry about.

Beginning September 7th, 2022, the automatic daily gratuity charge will increase from $14.50 to $16.00 per guest, per day for non-suite staterooms and from $17.50 to $18.50 per guest, per day for suites on Royal Caribbean cruises.

This daily gratuity is split up between dining, bar, culinary services, stateroom attendants, and other hotel services teams. All other onboard gratuities will stay the same. Beverages, spa and salon services, room service, and minibar items will still see an 18% gratuity.

You do have the option of paying your gratuity in advance and keeping the current rate, but if you don’t want to pay in advance, any gratuity on sailings after September 7th will be subject to the new rates.
