We’re halfway through April, folks!

We’ve had a LOT of Disney news this week, including details about all the Earth Day snacks you’ll get at Disney Parks, an announcement about how you can now bundle Disney+ with National Geographic Premium, and more! But there were some HUGE stories, too!
Expedition Everest Is Reopening
Expedition Everest at Disney’s Animal Kingdom has been down for a lengthy refurbishment since January, and it even had a reopening date set for mid-April. However, it recently seemed like that the reopening date might be delayed.

But as things would have it, the reopening is right on schedule. We recently learned that the reopening date for Expedition Everest is scheduled for April 16th. We also learned that it will no longer be an Individual Attraction Selection ride, but will be included as part of Disney Genie+ when it reopens so guests only need Disney Genie+ to access the Expedition Everest Lightning Lane.

More Guardians of the Galaxy News
We’re full-speed ahead when it comes to news about the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind attraction at EPCOT. First, we finally got to see what the costumes will look like for Cast Members who work on the ride.

Early previews also became available for Annual Passholders, Disney Vacation Club members, and D23 Gold Members, and every single preview has sold out. The coaster opens to the public on May 23rd.

MagicBand Shortage
The supply chain issues have started to affect MagicBand availability. The choices for pre-arrival discounted MagicBands — which are available to guests who have booked a stay at Disney World hotels — are slim right now.

Disney posted an announcement explaining the situation and how its team was working to improve the selection of pre-arrival MagicBands for guests.

Disneyland’s World of Color Will Have Virtual Queue
World of Color returns to Disney California Adventure on April 22nd, and we recently learned that guests will need to sign up for a virtual queue to watch from the park’s designated viewing area!
According to Disney, “Beginning April 22, distribution times for the virtual queue enrollment will begin at noon, daily. If you are able to make a virtual queue selection, you will receive a notification via the Disneyland app to enter the designated “World of Color” viewing area via one of the two marked entrance points (Blue or Yellow) assigned to you, approximately 45 minutes before the show begins.”

Guests will need to be inside Disney California Adventure or Disneyland Park before 12PM to reserve their spot in the virtual queue.
