NEWS: Two Disney Hand Sanitizers Recalled By the FDA

Since the Disney World parks and resorts shut down in 2020, many guests have become a little more conscious of germs and bacteria.

Thanks to the pandemic, many have amassed a pretty large collection of hand sanitizers. Recently, the FDA published a recall of two Disney-themed hand sanitizers produced and sold between 2020 and 2021.

According to information from the FDA, Best Brands Consumer Products, Inc. is voluntarily recalling both The Mandalorian Hand Sanitizer Ethyl Alcohol 68%, available in green and blue formulations, and Mickey Mouse Hand Sanitizer Ethyl Alcohol 68% blue formulation.

Following official FDA testing, benzene, which is classified as a human carcinogen, was found in The Mandalorian Hand Sanitizer. Additionally, methanol was found in the Mickey Mouse Hand Sanitizer.

According to the FDA,  “both of the affected lots were produced during the months of April and May 2020.”  Further, “The affected lots had already been removed from sale in April 2021 for unrelated commercial reasons.”

If you own The Mandalorian Hand Sanitizer from Lot: 20E21 (Exp. 9/30/22) in a 2.11 fl. oz. bottle or Lot: 20D21 (Exp. 6/30/22) of the Mickey Mouse Hand Sanitizer in a 2.11 fl. oz. bottle, you are encouraged to stop using the product and discard it.
