In 2019, Disneyland’s Space Mountain was converted from its normal version to a version called Hyperspace Mountain, themed entirely after Star Wars! This ride overlay was in celebration of May the Fourth and the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on May 31st, 2019.
Fans of this intergalactic ride overlay can now rejoice as Disney announced that Hyperspace Mountain will be returning SOON!
Space Mountain in Disneyland will be closed on April 28th, 2022, and will reopen the following day, April 29th, as the fan-favorite Hyperspace Mountain.
Hyperspace Mountain features an entirely different storyline than the normal Space Mountain ride, and it’s all about Star Wars. In this version, riders are enlisted to help the Rebel Alliance run reconnaissance missions, where guests will be able to see TIE Fighters, X-Wings, and even a Star Destroyer throughout the ride.
Disney did not announce when Hyperspace Mountain would revert back to Space Mountain, so stay tuned to AllEars for all the latest information.
